While many Florida clubs take the summer months at a slower pace, there’s one east coast club community that’s seizing this moment to elevate its game. Situated along Florida’s Treasure Coast, just north of The Palm Beaches, Tesoro Club has dedicated its summer months to a myriad of activity. The most ambitious summer project for this private golf club is its meticulous maintenance plan for its Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf course. Displaying an unwavering commitment to excellence, the leadership team aims to elevate the Tesoro Club golf experience to new heights. Let’s delve into the course’s remarkable inaugural season, as well as the promising future that lies ahead.

Rave Reviews for Opening Season

Following an extensive 18-month renovation, Tesoro Club reopened the Palmer Course to rave reviews in November 2022. The 7,333-yard, par-72 layout is a spectacular and dramatic anchor to the community, combining a strategic PGA-level design with picturesque natural views. Just a few months after its grand reopening, the Club hosted two prestigious PGA Tour qualifying events, including the Astara Qualifier for the Korn Ferry Tour in January and the Honda Classic Monday Qualifier in February. The course hosted PGA professionals from around the world and received resounding acclaim from Links Magazine, GolfPass, and The Palm Beach Post. Tesoro Club Members have always enjoyed a front-row seat to the unfolding excitement, while also enjoying weekly golf games and expert instructional clinics.

Enhanced Greens for Year-Round Playability

This summer, the Club has taken a comprehensive approach to improving the quality of its golf greens. Weeds are removed from the course before the re-establishment of Bermuda grass brings back its healthy appearance. The final step involves a rigorous top-dressing process that promotes the growth of strong, championship-level playing grass. Anticipated to reopen by mid-October 2023, these enhancements will create faster, firmer greens Members can enjoy for years to come. The leadership team also has additional plans to improve its golf experience with renovations to the driving range’s greens and the highly anticipated revival of the Club’s second championship golf course, the Watson Course, planned for the future.

Chosen as Host for the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament

Matthew Doyle and his team are also well underway with crafting an enticing lineup of golf events for the approaching season. After decades of hosting its qualifying tournament at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, the PGA Tour has chosen Tesoro Club to host this event in the fall. Also scheduled to kick off in November, the calendar promises a dynamic array of events that will keep the course buzzing with activity for social beginners and avid golfers alike. PGA Professionals provide golf schools, clinics, and customized instruction to unlock the potential of golfers across all proficiency levels. For those with a lower handicap seeking a challenge, the Club is also planning to host an array of men’s and women’s games, exclusive invitationals, and qualifiers for more PGA tournaments.

With a captivating array of events, Matthew Doyle and his team are poised to create a golfing season that caters to every enthusiast. “Our golf staff is ready and excited for the season,” said Doyle. “We’re looking forward to having a robust event schedule with clinic and instructional programs for men, ladies, and juniors at all skill levels. We love getting out there, meeting the community, and trying to get everybody hooked on golf.”
