A Designer Model Designed for Entertaining

The Augusta is a single-story, 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, plus den home tailored for carefree Florida living. The great room and dining room each feature coffered ceilings and expansive windows bringing in an abundance of natural light. The well-appointed designer kitchen comes complete with premium appliances, bountiful cabinets, and a central entertainment island ideal for family gatherings. Soaring sliding glass doors open to a covered patio that extends the living space outdoors. The owner’s suite enjoys added privacy and is highlighted by an expansive walk-in closet and spa-like bath with a freestanding soaking tub. Each of the two guest bedrooms offers its own walk-in closet and ensuite bath, ensuring comfort and convenience for visiting family and friends.

Llwyd Ecclestone III, President of Ecclestone Signature Homes, shared that this 3,598-square-foot home is just one of three residences the award-winning firm is currently offering at Tesoro Club. “Preserves are home to wonderful wildlife and create an amazing backyard experience for our owners. We’re going to be designing new homes that range from 3,500 square feet up to about 7,000 square feet,” says Ecclestone. “Tesoro Club’s design is very rare to find in today’s club communities. The homesites are larger than available in other areas and have great water, golf, or preserve views.”

Timeless Interior Design

The Decorators Unlimited integrated coastal inspiration into Ecclestone’s designer model. The home embodies a transitional style, blending the timeless elegance of Tesoro Club with contemporary clean lines. Gardner porcelain floors exude modern sophistication with warm natural tones, while light color tones on the walls enhance the open and airy sense of space. The windows are elegantly framed with a light ethereal gauzy treatment, adding a soft framework and a sense of privacy while still allowing the natural light to flow through.

“For the Augusta model, we really wanted to feature a new, fresh look that reflects Florida living at its best,” shared Bob Martin, President and CEO of The Decorators Unlimited. “The finishes are all organic with accents of soft gradients of blue to give the house a pop of color.”

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Dreams were on the line Monday morning in Port St Lucie.

Professional golfers hit the links looking to land a spot at this week’s Cognizant Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.

There was zero room for error since only four players in Monday’s round would qualify for this weekend’s tournament, needing to shoot in the mid-60s.

Cognizant Classic hopefuls were pleased by the greens and overall condition of the course.

“I’ve never seen it in better shape,” Tesoro Club’s PGA golfer William Frodigh said. “The wind’s kind of down relative to what it usually is, so I think there’s going to be some low numbers out there.”

Only the top four finishers of the day will qualify for this week’s event in Palm Beach Gardens.
Frodigh said he had a chance down the stretch.

“One under, I had it going three under with two [holes] to play and a couple of weird breaks on 17. [I] made double and just missed birdie on 18,” Frodigh said. “I had a chance coming down the stretch, and that’s all you can ask for.”

William Frodigh at Tesoro Club

They were thankful for the chance, but both players said they would take the lessons learned today for future events.

“I know I competed with a lot of these guys,” Frodigh said. “It was a great learning experience, so only positives going forward from this.”

“That’s golf. Rarely does golf make you feel good,” Gagne said. “You know, most of the time, you leave feeling like you left a few out there, whether you played great or not so great.”

Robert Garrigus, Chris Crawford and Jeff Overton qualified on Monday.

However, there was a six-way tie for the fourth spot, forcing a playoff.

The PGA tour reported that Monday’s playoff was suspended by darkness with three players — Michael Gligic, Chris Nido and Kevin Tway — still fighting for the last qualifier spot.

Those three players will return to the course Tuesday morning.

D.J. Trahan, Andy Svoboda and Kevin Johnson were eliminated earlier in the playoff.

Located just north of The Palm Beaches, the Palmer Course at Tesoro Club has drawn both golf and nature enthusiasts to the Club’s exclusive golfing lifestyle. Having hosted two PGA Tour Qualifying events (and with more planned for the future), the course has emerged as a sought-after destination for those desiring championship-level play in a serene environment. Leading the charge is Head Golf Professional Matt Doyle, instrumental in elevating Tesoro Club’s course to PGA-level status.

A PGA Class “A” Member and award-winning golf professional since 1997, Matt Doyle has had a passion for golf since the age of three. After a decade of tournament play and a trophy case filled with accolades, Doyle shifted to the country club world. From caddie and membership salesman to eventually Director of Golf, he showed his dedication to the sport and its Members at The Dye Preserve Golf Club, Turtle Creek Golf Club, and The Misquamicut Club. At Tesoro Club, Doyle has overseen the Palmer Course renovations and crafted an intricate golf program for Members. Hear from Doyle as he shares his insights on Tesoro Club’s calendar of pro tour events.

Before and After the Tesoro Golf Course

What Updates Were Made to the Course and Driving Range Last Summer?

“We took a very aggressive approach to re-establishing our Bermuda grass fairways. All the hard work we put in last summer is paying off now. The golf course is in fabulous condition and the greens are rolling great. We also did a full renovation of the driving range. There are 19 different targets out there at a variety of different yardages. Someone who’s a real ardent golfer can be on our driving range and practice every single shot in the bag. Additionally, we re-established the lesson tee at the back of the range with a green and a bunker, which is great for private instruction. I tried to design it like it was my own practice facility, adding as many targets as possible into the scoring zone so I could shoot lower scores. It’s been well received by Members as a place where you can concentrate on your game without distractions.”

What Events Have Members Enjoyed This Season?

“We just held a second complimentary clinic for our full Membership, including Social Members. This is an opportunity for everyone to see the facility, meet the team, and create a community environment where everyone feels comfortable hitting the greens. We also have a full tournament schedule with Members, Member Guests, a Club Championship, and more. The momentum for the Club and community is growing, and it’s just such a pleasure to see. It’s a beautiful property and our owners put in a lot of hard work. To see all this work paying off just brings a lot of joy to my heart. I can see it on the faces of the golfers and the people living in the community too, especially the ones that have been here through the entire journey of Tesoro Club.”

What PGA Tour Events Have Been Hosted at Tesoro Club?

“Fall 2023, we hosted the second stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. 11 under was the winning score for four rounds. We’ve also hosted the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Qualifier, the Honda Classic Qualifier, and the South Florida PGA Junior Medalist Tour. The Palmer Course can challenge the best players in the world, and they enjoy that. Camillo Villegas was here twice right before he won the PGA Tour last year. He and other golf professionals have given me great feedback on the property, sharing ‘What a great golf course. So unique, challenging, and beautiful. It’s really nice that the houses are so far back off the golf holes. You don’t have to worry about getting up to the tees and hitting a house.’ They also really enjoy the greens at Tesoro Club. They’re smooth, fast, and you can make a lot of putts because they’re not crazy. They’re just subtle, natural, soft slopes.”

Is the Palmer Course Playable for Beginners?

“Yes, we have beginners and short-hitters that enjoy the course. Our front tees are designed for somebody who hits their driver 140 yards. We have players all the way in the front on our red course enjoying the golf and the beauty of the property. You hit the golf ball and have a good time, but a lot of people just enjoy seeing Tesoro Club’s natural beauty and expansive waterways. Beginners love it. Tour pros love it. The challenge is there, but if you play the set of tees that you’re supposed to play, everybody loves the Palmer Course.”

How About Junior Golfers?

kid at the Tesoro golf hole
“There have been quite a few families coming into the Club, and it’s good to see the kids out hitting a golf ball. I was a kid once, and I love watching junior golfers fall in love with the game and take on the challenge that golf presents. Families and children are a major part of this community. We’re going to have men’s golf programs, ladies’ golf programs, and also a junior golf program. And what a place for a family to live, with all our amenities and natural beauty. It’s not a cookie-cutter property.”

What Sets Tesoro Club Apart from Other Private Club Communities?

“One of the beauties of Tesoro Club is we have an abundance of tee times available. We are in a place where you call us before you come, and we will have everything set up for you. You can go to the driving range and warm up, or go right to the tee to play. It’s a very private, exclusive golf course. Members often say they feel like they had the whole course to themselves. The private golf club experience is very attractive to a lot of people coming to see the facility. Golf courses have gotten so crowded that you’re paying for a private golf club experience, but you have to make tee times like you’re at a resort or a public facility. We’re seeing a lot of those people come here so they don’t have to book their tee time two weeks or more in advance. They want to be able to get out of their house, drive over here, and play golf.”

aerial of the golf course

As Head Golf Professional, What is Your Vision for the Future of Golf at Tesoro Club?

“The work that we’ve done over the last two years is going to continue this summer. We’re putting together an extensive plan to continue to enhance the Palmer Course. Next summer’s focus will be on our rough areas, cleaning those up to improve the course and deliver an even better product next season. It’ll be at another level next year from where it is this year. That’s my goal here. I try to oversee that project and make sure we’re doing all the right practices to create the best playing conditions for our Membership and our players. We’re committed to making this place reach the highest level of play and performance. It takes a lot of hard work over the summer, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Iconic Private Club Amenities for Every Interest

Along with championship golf, the 22,000-square-foot Swim and Racquet Club offers an array of activities for Members to get out in the Florida sunshine. Eleven pickleball courts, seven Har-Tru tennis courts, two stadium courts, and two bocce ball courts ensure plenty of play time for Members of all skill levels. A few times a week, Members can sharpen their pickleball game with learning and strategy classes, and a cardio tennis class during the day segues into a spirited mid-week Doubles and Bubbles. Led by USPTA Elite Tennis Director Jason Suarez, the Racquet Club also boasts select private and charitable events each year. The rest of the Swim and Racquet Club’s social calendar brims with social bocce and kids’ clinics, while Tesoro Club’s landmark Clubhouse hosts fitness classes and lunch at the Terrace Grill overlooking the fairways.

A Masterpiece by Any Measure

Two new neighborhoods were introduced in 2023 by WCI Communities and Toll Brothers at Tesoro Club. Each presents an exceptional range of luxury, single-family home options, with elegantly designed model homes available for daily tours. Additionally, Tesoro Club’s newly announced Signature Homes Collection will provide cottage to estate-sized homes on prime championship golf, wooded preserves, and lakefront homesites. Ecclestone Signature Homes, GHO Homes, and Janssen Custom Homes, have been chosen to build homes that combine cutting-edge architecture with a natural setting that is second to none.

Port St. Lucie, Florida, January 17, 2024 – Tesoro Club, a 1,490-acre premier gated golf club community located in the heart of Florida’s Treasure Coast, closed out 2023 with more than 80 home sales, exceeding its projections. Homes in Tesoro Club range from 2,000 to 7,500 square feet and are priced in the high $600s to over $4.5 million.

“We are so pleased with the overwhelming response we’ve received for Tesoro Club, with the home sales in 2023 exceeding all of our projections. This year is off to a great start, and we are looking forward to an even more robust year ahead,” said Tim Jones, Managing Partner.

Builders in Tesoro Club are WCI Communities by Lennar and Toll Brothers, along with signature luxury home builders Ecclestone Signature Homes, GHO Homes and Janssen Construction. The home sales include contracts and closings on new and existing homes.

Over the past year, Tesoro Club has undergone an extensive rebirth under a visionary new ownership team led by partners Timothy Jones, Roderick O’Connor and Tucker Frederickson. The partners are bringing this private, master-planned community to a new level of distinction, each offering in-depth real estate and private club experience. Read more about the team here.

“We are seeing such a strong demand for homes in Tesoro Club. Home buyers are coming to us from throughout the country and Florida, with a particularly strong interest from those in Palm Beach and Broward counties,” said Mr. Jones. “Our buyers are drawn to the championship Arnold Palmer golf course, our luxurious amenities, the nature and tranquility, as well as the value.”

Tesoro Club’s popular Arnold Palmer Championship Golf Course re-opened last year after an extensive 18-month renovation and served as home to the qualifying event for the PGA Tour’s 2023 The Honda Classic, as well as the 2023 Q-School second stage qualifier. It will be home to the PGA Tour Cognizant Classic Open Qualifier, February 25-26.

Tesoro Club also added new lighted pickleball courts and upgraded its 22,000 Swim & Racquet Club facilities. The Club’s Watson Course will undergo a complete renovation at a date soon to be announced. The centerpiece of Tesoro Club is a spectacular, classically inspired clubhouse overlooking a 120-acre lake.

Tesoro Club is only one of five clubs in nation and the only course in Florida to host the second stage qualifier

Port St. Lucie, Florida, November 13, 2023 – Tesoro Club, a 1,490-acre premier gated golf club community located in the heart of Florida’s Treasure Coast, will host a second stage qualifier for the PGA Tour Q-School, presented by Korn Ferry. The qualifying tournament will be held November 14-17 on Tesoro Club’s newly renovated Arnold Palmer Championship Golf Course.

“We have restored Tesoro Club’s Arnold Palmer Course to its world class distinction, and we are honored to partner again with the PGA,” said Head Golf Professional Matthew Doyle. “We are one of five clubs in the nation to host the second stage Q-School qualifier and the only course in Florida.”

Tesoro Club’s popular course re-opened last year after an extensive 18-month renovation and served as home to the qualifying event for the PGA Tour’s 2023 The Honda Classic. The course was refurbished over the summer including restablishment of Bermuda grass and overall beautification. In addition, Tesoro Club is renovating its 10-acre practice facility with a December opening planned.

Over the past year, Tesoro Club has undergone an extensive rebirth under a visionary new ownership team led by partners Timothy Jones, Roderick O’Connor, and Tucker Frederickson. The partners are bringing this private, master-planned community to a new level of distinction, each offering in-depth real estate and private club experience. Read more about the team here.

Nearly 75 new homes will be built in Tesoro Club in the coming year, including the addition of three new luxury home builders to the award-winning roster of industry professionals. Ecclestone Signature Homes, GHO Homes and Janssen Custom Home Builders, LLC recently announced that they are building signature homes on the sought after golf and lakefront homesites along the Palmer Golf Course.

The new additions join the existing new home offerings at Tesoro Club including two of the nation’s top builders – WCI Communities and Toll Brothers. Currently, there are more than two dozen homes under construction within Tesoro Club. Designer decorated models opened earlier this year and move-in ready homes are currently available. The homes will range from 2,000 to 7,500 square feet and are priced in the high $600’s to over $4.5 million.

Tesoro Club also added new lighted pickleball courts and upgraded its 22,000 square foot Swim & Racquet Club facilities. The Club’s Watson Course will undergo a complete renovation at a date soon to be announced. The centerpiece of Tesoro Club is a spectacular, classically inspired clubhouse overlooking a 120-acre lake.

For decades, Palm Beach has been an epicenter for some of the biggest names in golf. Yet, as the demand for golf living surges, enthusiasts are finding it a challenge to find greens to tee off at. With limited availability of homes and extensive waitlists for golf memberships, private club communities in the region are struggling to meet Palm Beach’s growing demand.

Located just 30 minutes north of The Palm Beaches, Tesoro Club in Port St. Lucie has become a coveted destination for those seeking championship-level play in an uncrowded setting. Cocooned in endless nature preserves, the 1,490-acre community has attracted both golf and nature lovers with its stunning fairway views and a secure, gated club lifestyle. The first of Tesoro Club’s two championship courses, The Palmer Course, reopened last year after a meticulous 18-month renovation to rave reviews. As the host to two PGA Tour Qualifying events last season, Tesoro Club has an exciting lineup of events for this upcoming season sure to keep its Members enthused. Let’s take an inside look at the course and exciting activities planned this season.

Where Nature and Sport Intersect

Masterfully designed by legend Arnold Palmer, The Palmer Course challenges players’ strength and accuracy with its innovative architecture. Pristine wetlands flow through wooded natural preserves to give players scenic views on every hole. Spanning from 4,756 to 7,316 yards, there’s plenty of room on this par 72 course for Members to perfect their swings and engage in friendly competition. This summer, Tesoro Club took advantage of the off-season to improve the quality of its greens further. The re-establishment of Bermuda grass brought back its healthy appearance, while a rigorous top-dressing process promoted the growth of strong, championship-level playing grass. These enhancements created faster and firmer greens for Members to enjoy year-round.

“The Palmer course takes your breath away,” shared Head Golf Professional Matthew Doyle. “The beauty, the waterways, the shots, the bunkering – it really is a spectacular golf course that really has a big wow factor to it. The 17th hole is personally my favorite hole on the course. It has an absolutely spectacular view of the green surrounded by the coquina and crushed concrete. Then it has an infinite view of the large lake that we are blessed to have here. It’s a hole that you do not see in Florida.”

An Exhilarating Stop on the PGA Tour

Although the community just reopened its course last season, Tesoro Club has already established itself as a destination for PGA-level play. On November 14-17, The Palmer Course hosted championship golfers from around the nation for the second stage of PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. After decades of hosting its qualifying tournament at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, the PGA Tour chose Tesoro Club to host the event in the fall. Golfers vied for the top five spots, which promise PGA Tour cards for the first time in a decade. The Club hosted two prestigious PGA Tour qualifying events last season as well, including the Astara Qualifier for the Korn Ferry Tour in January and the Honda Classic Monday Qualifier in February.

“Tesoro Club is honored to be chosen as the host site for the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament,” said Doyle. “Our events last year were a resounding success, and we have heard many remarks from players that our course was one of the nicest they’ve been able to play. We’re looking forward to all the future events we will have the honor of hosting at Tesoro Club.”
